Cookie
Policy
How we use cookies and similar technologies, and how you can manage them.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site function, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use it. We also use similar technologies such as local storage (for example, to remember your light/dark theme choice).
2. Your consent
We use strictly necessary cookies to make the site work; these do not require consent. For non-essential cookies (such as analytics or advertising), we rely on your consent in line with the EU ePrivacy rules, the GDPR, POPIA and the Kenya Data Protection Act. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through your browser settings or any cookie controls we provide.
3. Cookies and technologies we use
| Type | Purpose | Examples / duration |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Core functionality and security. The site cannot work properly without these. | Theme preference (light/dark) stored in local storage; session basics. |
| Performance / analytics | Help us understand traffic and improve content (only if enabled). | e.g. privacy-friendly analytics — typically up to 24 months. |
| Functional | Remember choices to enhance your experience. | Preference cookies — session to 12 months. |
| Targeting / advertising | Used only if we run advertising or embed certain third-party content. | Set by third parties — durations vary. |
4. Approximate location (IP)
To show location-relevant content (for example, a message tailored to your region), we may look up your approximate location from your IP address via a third-party service when a page loads. This is used in real time and is not stored by us. See our Privacy Policy for more.
5. Third-party cookies
Some cookies may be set by third parties whose services we use (such as analytics or embedded media). We do not control these cookies; please review the relevant third party’s own cookie and privacy notices.
6. How to manage cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or remove cookies and notify you when one is set — see the help pages for Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge. Blocking some cookies may affect how the website works. Many browsers also offer a “Do Not Track” signal, which we honour where technically feasible.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The latest version is always published here with its “last updated” date.
